Alumni
Zineb joined the group from Libya that is famous for its fantastic beaches. She received her MSc degree from Misurata university where her hard work and academic excellence were awarded in the form of an academic scholarship to continue her graduate studies at Brock. Zineb says "I consider my joining to Pilkington group is a great opportunity for me because It is very important for me to receive a good education." In her free time she loves reading psychology books, travelling and she enjoys spending time with her children. Zineb successfully defended her PhD in Dec. 2019 and remains in the group in the short term as a PDF.

Dr. Parisa Abbasi

Parisa grew up in Zanjan, in the north west of Iran, where she was used to experiencing cold winters with a meter of snow. Parisa got her MSc from Zanjan University in 2013, working on solar cells afterwhich time she joined her husband in Newfoundland. Parisa loves chemistry and wants to learn more about different areas, so she decided to continue her graduate studies. Parisa joined the Pilkington group at Brock after winning a prestigious Trillium Fellowship to begin her new adventures in chemistry. She also enjoys reading books in her spare time.  Parisa successfully defended her PhD in March 2020 and remains in the group in the short term as a PDF.
Gabriele Delle Monache

Gabe is currently a PhD student and grew up in St. Catharines. Gabe got his BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Brock, and joined the Pilkington group in April 2017 when he was awarded the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award. After a successful Undergraduate Thesis with the Pilkington group he wanted to continue his research in the field of Single Molecule Magnets. Gabe enjoys playing soccer in his spare time.

Cody is currently in the 4th year of his BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Biological Sciences, and is from Niagara Falls. He joined the Pilkington group, and was awarded the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award in April 2019. Cody will be completing an undergraduate thesis in the group, and plans to pursue graduate studies following completion of his BSc. He enjoys playing ball hockey, and basketball in his spare time.

Anne Worrell

Anne has joined the Pilkington group in May 2019. She is currently in the third year of her graduate studies and has recently transferred from the MSc to the PhD program. In her spare time she enjoys baking and reading.
Hamed joined the group as an MSc student in January 2020. Hamed got his BSc and MSc in Materials Science and worked on multidisciplinary research areas varying from magnetic to thermoelectric properties of solid-state materials. After he got an offer from the graduate studies department of Brock University, he joined the Dr. Pilkington group to work on magnetic complexes. Hamed enjoys hiking and nature during his free time.
Fatma joined the group in August 2019 as a visiting undergraduate scholar from the University of Cardiff. When she is not in the lab Fatma enjoys travelling to discover new places as well as reading a good novel.
Melissa is from the island of Antigua, known for its beautiful beaches. She joined the group in the summer of 2019, and is currently in the 4th year of her BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry. Her Thesis Project focuses on on Heterometallic Mn/Ln Cluster Chemistry towards the Synthesis of Single Molecule Magnets. Melissa enjoys reading in her spare time and travelling.
